Spreading Some Sparkle!
Oh...Oh...Oprah!
Wow, wow, wow! This was what Mum & I kept saying as we left Vector Arena last week, having listened to Oprah Winfrey speak for over two hours! We were enthralled with her engaging story telling and the magical charisma that only Oprah can bring to a stage. She looked beautiful and vibrant and at times you could have heard a pin drop among 11,000 people, as she shared stories from her past - some really funny ones and some really sad ones. She shared many powerful messages (in that magical way that only Oprah can do!), most of them we had heard before from either her Super Soul Sunday shows and/or her books, however it was soooo good to hear them in person and to be reminded of them. The backdrop of her stage was a visual feast, showing us such images as the huge oaks in her backyard. Combined with emotionally evoking music, it resulted in a sensory experience that could move the toughest souls!

Here are a few of the messages she shared ... Live Your Own Life Don't seek to be like anyone else or do things the way anyone else does things. Be the best person you can be, because no one else can be you. This way you never compete with anyone, you only ever create - yourself! Threads We all have threads/events that happen for us (not to us) that eventually lead us to where we want to be. Every experience has learning in it for us to grow. We often don't realise it at the time, but on reflection we can see how the pieces of the puzzle that make up our lives, come together, and why they happened at all. Second Chances! Sometimes we are given a second chance. We have to take it and run! Don't make the same mistake twice! We all Want to feel Validated Oprah shared that after doing over 37,000 interviews, the question most people ask her once the cameras stop rolling is ...'did I do okay?' Even Barrack Obama! We all want to know that we have been heard and have been understood. Action - Reaction Of all the things I saw at her show, the visual that she put up for this message stood out for me more than anything else. (I'm on the hunt for an actual tangible one, so it can be a constant reminder to me!) Newtons third law of physics '
"To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction." is so beautifully demonstrated with Newton's cradle - a device that demonstrates momentum and energy via a series of swinging spheres. When one on the end is lifted and released, it strikes the stationary spheres; a force is transmitted through the stationary spheres and pushes the last one upward. (see photo)
